Review of Technophobia and Video at BeSonic.com - Highlight: TECHNOPHOBIA by English artist THE DARK VILLAGER - an ultranerdy ode to the wonders of modern sound technology - involuntarily conjures a satisfied, aware smile on Techno-disciple's faces with his slightly trashy guys-charm and point-blank-80s-attitude. Sounds like a living room-session with the PET SHOP BOYS and KRAFTWERK hosted by JIMI TENOR. Pretty cool! Oh yes..., and the video is great as well!

Website started - The website (version1?) is completed and uploaded but not yet 'live'.. I have put on my latest track and video 'Lost'. I am working on a follow up to Lost... It will be called 'No Way'. Hopefully completed by the end of the month.

No Way - song and video completed and posted. Ending remixed. Video re-edited. My son had fun helping with the ambient lighting on the Furbies 'Wee Dark Villagers' band. I need to add the web address on the back of the T-Shirts. German radio station ( see links) has asked for promo cd to give Tecnophobia some airplay.

It is sometimes difficult to find a pearl in the sand. I mean, to find a good
song within the mass of today's music:
The Dark Villager's music convinces with nice synthpop melodies and its texts,
which can be compared with the good old early 80s synthpop music. But The
Dark Villager has its own very individual style and creates a different style
in each of his synthetic songs, often with a funny video. If you like the
synthetic's fathers Kraftwerk, you will surely like The Dark Villager's individual
note in his music, too!

The Good the Bad and the Ugly - The good is my pc is finally working properly for recording audio! And Technophobia was aired last weekend ( I missed it , grrr! - but will be played again soon) The bad is I have had quite a few offensive emails/comments on you tube lately. Stop it or i'll tell your mums. The Ugly is I uploaded my new track - The Isle, featuring multiple images of myself..Very Scary.

Also uploaded new instrumental electric violin track - 'Dance of the Ages' a couple of days ago. This has had a fantastic response on YouTube. And a bad response on BeSonic! I guess its the type of audience. BeSonic being more German dance / techno based on the whole.

I am in Istanbul (for now) A very difficult move. I don't have my shipment which has all of my instruments and equipment in so I am going crazy with lack of creativity. Good news is I have been (forced) to get a Macbook and uploaded a creation to my 'myspace' site (free download) . My synth pop album 'Twisted' should be out on ITunes any time now and also my indie rock EP 'wanted'. I have been added to the playlist for 'rock-a-pop radio'.

Two bits of good news at once - about time! First - I finally
got all my shipment today and its all there and all works! only took 2 grand
and two months but hey.....Second is that my album 'Twisted' album
is finally up and live on ITunes! - (though its not listed yet - you will
have to do an artist search for 'the dark villager'. The 'Wanted' EP is out
soon too! check them both out. thanks - DV (back in action!)

'Wanted' EP was released on ITunes a week ago. Check it out! Its the dark - Rockier side of the DV :-) ..........Uploaded a new track a while ago , forgot to mention it here. 'I feel it' is available on Youtube and Myspace and now is on here too - created with just macbook and garage band using the built in sounds and also some external samples. Just uploaded and instrumental version of a track I am working on - the vocals will be added shortly ( out comes the vocoder for this one!) 'Disconnected' . Please note that although I can access YouTube here through a proxy server, unfortunately I cannot read Youtube comments or emails or respond to anyone through YouTube.
